And while those beautiful, perfectly curated activity ideas look amazing online… most of us just don’t have the time (or patience) for that. So here’s a list of real-life, low-effort spring activities your kids will love—and you can actually pull off without stress. 1. Puddle Jumping Adventures Grab rain boots and let them go wild. Spring

Spring yard clean-up hits different when you’re a mom—because it’s not just leaves and branches… it’s a full-on treasure hunt for missing kids’ toys 😅 One minute you’re raking, the next you’ve found 3 soccer balls, a handful of chalk, a shoe (just one), and toys you forgot you even owned. Somehow they’ve survived snow, wind, and months of being buried like little time capsules. But there’s something kind of special about it too—fresh air, a clean yard, and kids rediscovering their “lost” favorites like it’s Christmas morning. Here’s to muddy boots, full garbage bags, and finally seeing grass again 🌱

🌧️ 4 Things Adults Can Do on a Rainy Day There’s something about a rainy day that forces us to slow down. The noise of the world softens, the sky turns grey, and suddenly… we’re given permission to just be . As adults, we don’t always take that invitation—but maybe we should. Here are four simple, feel-good ways to make the most of a rainy day: 1. ☕ Create a Cozy Corner & Unplug Rainy days are the perfect excuse to unplug from the chaos. Grab your favorite blanket, a warm drink (coffee, tea, or hot chocolate), and settle into a cozy spot. Whether it’s a couch, a chair by the window, or even your bed—make it yours. Put your phone down, turn off notifications, and just exist for a bit. 2. 📖 Get Lost in a Book (or Show) When was the last time you got completely absorbed in something? Rainy days are made for that. Dive into a good book you’ve been putting off, or binge a comfort show you’ve already seen a hundred times. No guilt—just enjoyment. 3. 🍲 Try a Comfort Recip...

busy

I’ve been so quiet on here lately, and it’s not for lack of wanting to show up… life has just been full . Between 2 kids in hockey, 3 in competitive dance, and 1 juggling two kinds of volleyball, our days have been nonstop. Practices, games, rehearsals—it feels like we’re always on the go. In between all of that, I’m here at home trying to keep things running—housework, squeezing in meal prep when I can, and honestly… taking a moment to breathe whenever it’s possible. Because our weekends? Absolute chaos in the best (and most exhausting) way. I’ve been meaning to come back, write, and share more—but time just slips away so quickly. If you’re in a busy season too, just know you’re not alone. We’re all out here doing our best, one day at a time 🤍

Birthdays

The Bittersweet Magic of Kids’ Birthdays There’s something so tender about a child’s birthday. It’s more than balloons, cake, and candles—it’s a gentle tug on a parent’s heart reminding us that time is moving far too quickly. Every year, as I wrap gifts or hang streamers, I feel a wave of nostalgia. It’s impossible not to think back to that very first cry, the tiny fingers wrapped around mine, the sleepless nights and endless cuddles. Suddenly, here we are—another year older, another milestone reached, another candle added to the cake. Kids see birthdays as pure joy—a chance to celebrate themselves, to feel special, to be showered with love and laughter. But for us parents, there’s this bittersweet ache tucked inside all the celebration. We cheer them on as they grow taller, braver, and more independent, but a quiet part of us longs for the days when they needed us a little more. Birthdays are a reminder of how fleeting childhood really is. One year you’re blowing bubbles ...

10 Fun Ways to Keep Kids Busy Inside on a Dreary Day We all know the feeling—outside is gray, rainy, or snowy, and the kids are bouncing off the walls. Instead of letting cabin fever take over, dreary days can actually be the perfect opportunity for creativity, connection, and fun indoors. Here are some simple, screen-light (or screen-free!) ways to keep little ones entertained when the weather isn’t cooperating. 1. Build a Blanket Fort Pull out the blankets, pillows, and chairs and let the kids create their own cozy hideaway. Bonus points for adding fairy lights or reading books inside the fort. 2. Indoor Scavenger Hunt Make a list of items for your kids to find around the house—something red, something soft, something that makes noise. This can keep them moving and thinking at the same time. 3. Bake Something Together Rainy days are made for warm kitchens. Bake cookies, muffins, or even homemade pizza. Let your kids measure, stir, and decorate—it’s messy, but it’s worth it. 4. ...

Savoring Slow Sundays With Our Kids There’s something sacred about Sundays. They carry a gentle reminder that life doesn’t always have to be rushed, scheduled, or perfectly planned. In a world that constantly pushes us to go faster, do more, and check off the never-ending to-do list, Sundays whisper to us:  slow down . For me, Sundays are about savoring time with my kids—really  being  with them, not just managing them through the motions of life. It’s about stepping outside together, breathing in fresh air, and noticing the way the sunlight dances on their hair as they run barefoot through the grass. It’s watching them discover tiny treasures—rocks, bugs, wildflowers—and remembering how magical the world felt when everything was new. We don’t need extravagant plans. A simple walk in the park, a backyard picnic, or sitting on the porch watching clouds drift by can become the sweetest memories. When I let go of the distractions—the phone, the chores, the endless list of “s...
